Glenerin Inn New Mississauga Condo: Palisades on the Glen
Over the past year, I've watched this new condo rising on the historic Glenerin Inn site in Mississauga.
I'd assumed it was yet another luxury building lining The Collegeway near the University of Toronto Mississauga campus (UTM); I was partly right.
While Palisades on the Glen is a luxury condo building, there are also remtal suites on the lower floors.

Palisades on the Glen Sign Announces new Retirement Condo 
What I did NOT know was that this building is a retirement residence, one of several new retirement buildings in Mississauga geared to the luxury affluent retiree market.
These latest entries into this market are billed as 5-star accommodations, with on-site spas, 24/7 nursing services, and elegant dining rooms.
They do not dissapoint.

Interior function room at Glenerin Inn 
On a chilly day, I headed inside the Glenerin Inn, to see what else may have changed since my last visit.
The answer: a lot, and not much:
The dining room services have been expanded, as have the kitchen hours.
The hallmark elegant function rooms have been spruced up, but retain the charm of the historic inn.

The dining areas are still elegant, cosy and perfect for a romantic dinner or a business meeting.
The second level walkway once open to the Great Room below is enclosed now for privacy and quiet for upper level guests.
Evans Room Function Room at Glenerin Inn in Mississauga 
My favourite function room is this one, the Evans Room, on the north east egde of the Inn, with windows on three sides, and overlooking Sawmill Valley Creek woodlands.
This room is also a favourite for smaller weddings, though adjacent rooms could accommodate larger parties.
I love the French doors that open onto a fairly private patio.

This photo shows the view from the patio area overlooking the woods to the rear (east) of the site.
From here, you can see the Palisades on the Glen condo tower rising to the south.
Although the historic old inn and the new luxury condo share the same property and same driveway, they do it amicably and with charm.
