Scenic World Blue Mountains Australia Pictures
Trainway, Cable Car, Skyway Terminal Katoomba NSW
Scenic World Katoomba, in NSW, west of Sydney, Australia, is a popular Blue Mountains attraction, and one of the stops on the Blue Mountains tour bus route.
There's a train car that operates like a funicular or tram, and a cable car, and a skyway car, like a cable car. All three are prefaced with 'Scenic'.
Buy tickets for Scenic World's various rides up, down or across the valley at this terminal building or use the restrooms, or buy lunch or souvenirs.
TIP To avoid long lines and waits for rides and tickets, try to arrive before 11 a.m., as that's when tour buses from Sydney begin to arrive.
Scenic Trainway Valley Station Blue Mountains
This is the Scenic trainway, billed as the steepest incline railway in the world. Trains run every 10 minutes, picking up and dropping off up to 84 passengers in the valley 415 meters (1,362 feet) below Scenic World.
I paid $11AUD for a one-way ticket, as I opted to walk down the Furber Steps then take the train back up the mountain.
From this lower station, shown here, there is a 'Scenic Walkway' boardwalk through the rainforest. This walkway, nearly 3 kms (2 miles) long, some of it wheelchair accessible, also leads to the Scenic Cableway platform.
You can ride down one way, walk around for a while, then ride up another.

Shop for Souvenirs, Gifts, at Scenic World, Blue Mountains Australia
Didgeridoos for sale: And stuffed Koalas, Kangaroos, etc. and many more gift items can be perused while one awaits the train, cable car or skyway.
Especially if time is short, like for international visitors on a day trip from Sydney, this is a good chance to pick up souvenirs.
There's a cafeteria where you can buy food and take it outside for a picnic if you like.
Scenic World is open daily from 9 to 5, but the last rides are at ten to 5. Pay attention to the time if you are on a day tour from Katoomba, as their last pick up of the day is almost the same time. The tour buses from Sydney are usually long gone by mid-afternoon.

Scenic World Blue Mountains Skyway Car Leaving Terminal Building
I took this picture from across the valley from Scenic World, when the Skyway car was approaching this far terminal. The skyway travels 720 meters, or about a mile from end to end.
This viewpoint is on the cliff trail called Prince Henry's Walk.
Note the large windows in the Scenic World building.
Even if you are not taking any of the various cars across or down the valley, you can get an idea of the view out the windows of the terminal.
Note that this skyway car has a glass floor, and you will be 270 meters (nearly 900 feet!) above the valley.
