Consider your flying times to from the Dominican Republic, as they can vary up to several hours in total travel time depending on your point of origin. From Toronto, flights to Dominican often land first in the north - Puerto Plata, Santiago, etc. then drop off and pick up passengers before continuing south to Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, etc.

The same routing might happen on the return flight. If time is at a premium, then choose direct, nonstop flights where possible.

Reminder: hurricane season in the Caribbean runs June 1 to November 30, the same as the hurricane season in the eastern U.S.A. Last minute travel deals during this time can be a bargain, but check the National Hurricane Center to see current and projected conditions.
