If you think you'd like your own travel web site, I've found a great resource for turning your knowledge of a favorite travel vacation spot or local area into a travel web site that generates an income.

And a 'travel' site doesn't necessarily mean exotic locations far from your home.

Your home town is exotic to travellers in foreign lands!

I often post pictures of myb  home town of Mississauga on Snapshot-Travel-blog and get visitors from around the world, who want to have a look at my pictures of this part of Canada.

I take pictures of things I see in daily life, like this photo of rhododendrons that I took in a city park near my home.

Maybe not the most exciting thing in the world to photograph, but it gives you an idea of  things you will see in this part of Canada.

Look at your own home town through the eyes of a traveller: I bet you see all kinds of interesting places to write about.

Are you a realtor who wants to advertise listings and sales?  All kinds of businesses can and should set up their own site. Work with what you know, on a topic or business that you are passionate about, and the words will flow!

Accountants, bookkeepers, office managers all have extensive knowledge about their field, knowledge that they can share with newbies and small business owners. How to set up a small business, spreadsheets and data bases, tax filing info and tips, how to name a business and how to set up a business plan -- all areas that seem simple to you but can be baffling to new business owners.

Have a hobby or interest that you are passionate about? Gardening, model airplanes, sky diving, scuba diving, self improvement, fitness, walking and hiking, photography, sewing, knitting, weaving -- the list is endless. Turn YOUR passion into a web-based business and help others too!

Make effective use of the internet to grow your business. Set up a web site to advertise and showcase your bricks and mortar store, but don't be surprised if your website not only increases your core store business but also generates an income of its own through ads and affiliates.

Even if you don't have a business right now, think about what you know no matter what your occupation or background.

'How To' book on Amazon: I haven't read this guide on Starting an Online Business, but several people who have read it recommend it highly as a good guide on how to start an online business and make money.
